The courage to care…
The commitment to create safe spaces for others is messy work, but it connects us and heals us. When we open the door for honesty, humility, and authenticity there is both great risk and great power. Safe spaces don’t always fix things, but they always allow us to know we are not alone. And that’s not nothing!

What God has joined together…
Marriage is not for the faint of heart. It can be a street fight for truth, respect, humility, and love. Those of us on the sidelines would do well to remember that we don’t really know… what goes on behind the four walls of a home.

Jesus touched him…
How many years had it been since this man had felt the touch of another? Jesus still touches the unclean. He still reaches into the lives of humans and touches us in the place of our great brokenness… with compassion.

I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. The people were all so…

When we gather…
Community is built with courage and intention. We don’t come together without fear and frustrations. We know the cost of sharing our lives, but we have determined that the value of community outweighs the cost.

In the name of compassion…
I think there is a name for it… Compassion fatigue. The term used to describe the way appeals to help others in times of suffering and tragedy gradually lose their power to move us. In this day of 24 hour news cycles and second by second updates from media sources, it is easy to be overwhelmed by the scope of suffering in the world. In the face of this overload, we turn away. Because we can. Share this...FacebookPinterestTwitterLinkedin
