Life with Zoe…
We chose her because she looked like a Newfie, the breeder said she would be a delightful mix. She breeds these newfie lab mixes as rescue dogs. I come from a poodle/ pug/ chihuahua family. Our last dog was a twelve pound Shih Tzu. We have absolutely no skills in the dog training arena. This wasn’t our best idea ever.

An honest confrontation…
“So, you didn’t mean to throw me under the bus?” I didn’t know what she was talking about. She then recounted the interaction from her perspective.

Lessons learned…
simply shared what they had. We both stood speechless in the face of such love and generosity. Tears rolled down our cheeks as we accepted this gift. We stood humbled by His provision and His great love, and we received it as from His hand.

Growing up…
We will remember the crazy things the boys did growing up, and we will stand in wonder at the men they have become. We will share a meal, dance and laugh, but I will still miss the littler boys.

On sharing a meal…
Shared meals, shared laughs, shared tears, and shared lives are the things that really impact us over time. People matter, and our connections to others need to be cultivated and nurtured in order for them to grow.

When did sharing a meal become a revolution? And yet, for us it is combatting isolation and distance that threatens our ability care and share in our hectic world.

On bailing…
Sometimes, our life can be overwhelmed by waves that seemingly come out of nowhere. In those times, we don’t need someone to tell us how we could have avoided this situation, but we simply need someone to help.

In the company of women…
I find myself at this moment in my life feeling as though some things that are both familiar and good no longer seem to fit. Marriage is not for the faint of heart. It can be a street fight for truth, respect, humility, and love. Those of us on the sidelines would do well to remember that we don’t really know… what goes on behind the four walls of a home.

I am blessed. I live an extraordinary life filled with amazing people, a loving (if crazy) family, meaningful work, and abundance on every side.
