My Year in Books…
In 2018, my goal was to read 50 books. According to my list, I read 52. This year, I found that my reading list fell into just a few categories. These categories seem to match the challenges of my life.

A book hangover…
He said, sometimes, when one book ends he can’t start another. He has to wait for a while and think about things. When I offered up the term, book lovers use to describe this phenomenon he laughed. A book hangover. Yes, that sounds right.

All the words…
People sometimes say that they don’t like fiction because it isn’t real. I would respectfully disagree. Some of the most real things I’ve learned have come in the pages of a book.

Better in March…
Everyday interactions that most of us accumulate without notice, a moment of connection through a smile in a coffee shop, the kindness of a touch, the way caring for someone actually makes you feel better, are noticed and appreciated by this character. I love it when I read a book and it reminds me to connect more deeply with my actual life.

A splash of inspiration- 01/20/18
There is no place I'd rather be when the temperature drops to unreasonable numbers (-35 is not a number I can live with) or when the winter winds whip snow and ice around my doorstep... than somewhere else.

The creative life…
I’ve gathered people and prepared meals to nurture both the soul and the body. I’ve organized events and lead people to accomplish goals. I’ve created things and helped to shape people.
