Intentional Living

Saying thank you…

For months, I noticed a member of my team that showed up.
She showed up when it was hard. She showed up when folks were pressuring her to stand down. She showed up and faced the resistance. She stood her ground and stood in the gap for our work, and our people. And I noticed, day in and day out. I noticed the push back. I noticed her commitment. I noticed her care.

  • I told my supervisors.
  • I shared her commitment with coworkers.
  • I commended her to people in position to make a difference.
  • But I never told her.

Until today….
I wish I were better at letting people know that I see them. I wish I remembered to be a say-er and not just a thinker of gratefulness. I usually think they must know, because it is so completely obvious. But it isn’t. I know it isn’t. So, I thanked her.
It is as simple as that. So, who will you thank today?
